The Calgary Regional Partnership (CRP) offers members and external stakeholders an ongoing analysis of current and long-term growth in the Region. While contracted to the CRP, Kelly was responsible for developing a consistent methodology and reporting method for calculating density across the Region. To do this, Kelly worked with each municipality’s planning group to ensure they were familiar with how the methodology was used and how it was to be applied to each Area Structure Plan (ASP).

Kelly worked closely with CRP’s GIS Lead to develop the Areas Structures Plan Capacities Report. This report created shapefiles for each member’s approved ASPs and provides the gross total area, gross developable area, units per acre (UPA), housing, and population capacity. With the completion of this report, the Partnership is able to review compliance towards the regional density targets of 8-10 UPA in greenfield residential areas. This report also provided data to develop the density target indicator in the Region’s Indicator Report.
